I am one of those people who is fascinated by the awards season, from the Golden Globes to the glamorous Oscar night. There I am, wine in hand, seeing every red carpet, criticizing every dress and of course speaking properly of my predictions that I must recognize become more and more accurate through the years. In fact, I confess. I have stood several times under the shower lifting a shampoo bottle and imagining what my speech would be like if I were to win an Oscar. And until one of my novels is directed by Iñarritú and starring Kate Winslet and Leo di Caprio (yes, with confidence as if he would be one of my most intimate friends I dare to call him Leo), I will have to settle for this: the imaginary press note in my immaginary Oscar awards …
Last night the imaginary Oscar Awards where celebrated in the dreams of Paola B. Sur where the unmatched Paola won the most awards for her masterful performance in the musical Messy-Land, film that she wrote, directed and starred. The talented writer, actress, singer, cook, psychologist, nurse, reader, driver, nutritionist and businesswoman thanked her fans (her daughter, son, and dog, but fans after all) for inspiring her to make this feature film, made in a Reality Show format and filmed in real time during the last 6 years to the best style of Boyhood, the same in which she has been a mother.
The musical tells the story of a woman who realizes that thanks to motherhood she must stop living in a clean and orderly house for the rest of her days. The song, “Why de socks disappear” won in the Best Song category, and was performed by the great Celine Dion on the night of the awards.
Her husband won Best Actor Performance in the film, “The Flu Does not Allow Me to Move a Finger,” where he competed with himself in other major feature films of the year such as “Pretending to be in the bathroom while I watch my Iphone” and “I do not understand how the dishwasher works.”
Paola, who arrived at the ceremony dressed in her 2002 skinny jeans, looked incredibly thin despite confessing on the red carpet that her diet is “based on pizza, wine, chocolates and coffee.” The majestic ceremony was held in the living room, surrounded by legions of legos and Star Wars toys. After the ceremony, the entire family went to celebrate with a Disney trip where Paola has started filming a great production for next year titled “Family that Survives Disney Together, Stays Together.”
